A Moment of Passing Chaos

This is one of my latest works. It was a real struggle to get anything I liked out of it. (Please forgive the poor image quality.) It is called A Moment of Passing Chaos. It is oil on panel, 16 x 20 in. $1000. It is very simple compared to a lot of my work, but the peice itself went through so many changes. It was even sanded down at one point. It has a complex history to go with it's complex meaning. I'm sure there are many people that won't appreciate it; but even if there is only one person in the world that loves it, it is worth all the effort.

My Ultimate Wish

Well if you're wondering what in the world to get me for Christmas, or birthday, anniversary, Mother's Day, Labor day, whatever; look no further. Here it is, my ultimate wish. The Art-Boards Art Storage System. Nevermind the fact that I don't have any space for it, I'd move out my bed for this thing. It's AWESOME!! Of course the website doesn't list a price, which probably means it's way over my budget. But a girl can dream.

Red Nude

This is one of my favorites! It's called Red Nude. It's 24 x 36 in oil on canvas. $2500. It was once described as "really hot," and I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately I haven't yet had the opportunity to show it off. Hopefully it will make it into a juried show soon. Otherwise I'll just have to keep it in my bedroom. (Not that I mind that at all.) It hangs just opposite of my bed so I can look at it all the time. It's gorgeous.

A word on Oil Pastels

Recently I decided to try my hand at oil pastels. I had some lying around from my college days, but never used them. I must say, I hated it. Kudos to those who use them and love them. You have more talent than me. I found it to be an awful muddy mess. I'll stick with my oil paints, thank you! I've seen some pretty amazing works with oil pastel, though. I think it is a beautiful medium.
Just not for me.

By all means, try them for yourself. To each his own and all that.

Swamp Veins

This is Swamp Veins. It is 5x7 inches oil on panel. This little puppy was rejected for at least half a dozen shows before it finally made it in one, and it took third place. Just a little reminder to KEEP TRYING!!! Things will happen if you are persistent.
