Hooray!

Both of the paintings I entered got in! Now, here's hoping I get a sale! (Or two!)

It's been a little while...

I have been a little bit busy lately. I moved to a completely new town. So I didn't know ANYBODY! Had to start over and join a new artists group. Tying to meet people, find a job, get to know the area... oh and get settled into a new house. (Still working on all of it actually.) But I just finished a new painting and submitted it for an upcoming show. Right now I'm very anxiously waiting to hear if I made it. It's called Autumn Leaf. The watery background is acrylic and the leaf itself is oil. 8x10 on a canvas panel. Here you can see the frame, well most of it. I submitted another painting, an older one. It is called Solitude, you can see it a few posts ago (works in progress); the one with snowy mountains. I should find out in a few days if either of them got in the show. Fingers crossed!

Works in Progress

As promised, here are some pics of some of what I'm working on now. Some of them are finished, some obviously are not, some just need a little finishing. I'm always open for suggestions.
(I'm sure I don't need to say that the photo quality here is minimal)

Portraits

Here are a couple of paintings from my "celebrity portraits" series. Roger Federer and Ian McKellen, respectively. It's ongoing and I have no idea how many I will end up doing. They will all be 20 x 24 in, $1,400; and they'll all have the sky background.
I'm currently working on several things right now, in preparation for my show this February. Yes I know, it's kind of last minute. But some of my best work is done under pressure. You'll just have to see the final product to judge for yourself.
I hope to get some pictures up soon of some of the work in progress. I'm still working out the daytime job situation though too, so time is precious. And time will tell.

Happy New Year!

Season's greetings, and all that jazz. This past month has been incredibly exhausting for me. I got a new job which provides me with virtually NO free time. I'm not sure how long I'm going to stick this one out.
I have a solo show coming up in February, and have no time to prepare for it. I actually woke up in a panic yesterday. So, I'm scrambling to get ready, and hoping everything will work out.
I've recently finished a piece for a charity event in Sandy Springs. Unfortunately I cannot post a picture of it because it's supposed to be a "mystery." The Sandy Springs Society's Starburst 2009 Gala will be Saturday - February 28, 2009 at The Ritz Carlton in Buckhead. I will plan on posting a picture of it after the event.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season, and is ready to get back to the old grind!
